Fire, Protection and Emergency Management Municipal Reports Fire Activities and Calls for Service Page 7 of 20 Council in Committee Minutes August 6, 2025 Fire Chief Corwin Quade delivered his report on fire activities. He also reported on how other municipalities felt about the services of fire marque and recommended its use. The CAO/Clerk mentioned that the township is waiting to hear from its insurance provider before proceeding with a motion as they had requested some wording changes. He spoke to the status of the review of retaining services from Fire Marque and confirmed there is no cost to the municipality yet it is pending a confirmation from our insurer who reviewed the agreement and requested some wording changes. Council did agree it would be a great program at no cost to the taxpayer and would not add a tax or administrative burden. The revenue would be back into the Fire Department reserves as outlined and allowed in the program which would be included in a Bylaw. Councillor Maika said she supported it and that council should determine what should be done with the revenues from it. The Fire Chief asked that council recommend the open air burning by- law be amended to remove Combermere and Wilno from the affected area as they are not as dense as Barry's Bay and there are issues determining boundaries
