Finance and Administration Committee Meeting

THAT the Finance and Administration Committee Meeting Agenda for Thursday, August 31, 2017 be approved as amended.

RECOMMENDATION: THAT the Finance and Administration Committee recommend to Council to extend the lease agreement with Charlie D's and The Corporation of the Township of Madawaska Valley with respect to the operation of the Canteen at the Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre for an additional season from mid-September, 2017, until when the ice is removed, approximately April 1, 2018.

THAT the Meeting recess at 10:48 a.m.

RECOMMENDATION: THAT the Finance and Administration Committee recommend to Council to accept the Madawaska Valley Library donation request for $400.00 through the Madawaska Valley Canada150 Celebration Community Grant.

RECOMMENDATION: THAT the Barry's Bay Slow-Pitch (Lawrence Kuiack Memorial Tournament) 2016 invoice be reduced to $300.00, and that the 2017 fee be reduced to $300.00.

RECOMMENDATION: THAT the Finance and Administration Committee recommend to Council to only consider in-kind donation requests for the remainder of 2017.

RECOMMENDATION: THAT the Finance and Administration Committee recommend to Council to withdraw from the Ontario Sport & Recreation Communities Fund (swim program).

THAT the Meeting recess at 2:38 p.m.

RECOMMENDATION: THAT the Finance and Administration Committee recommend to Council that the Fitness Centre strategy presented by Mayor Love be accepted as presented, including the grant extension request, the outstanding grant money is received and the memberships from Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Academy and the Falcons are received.

THAT the Meeting enter In-Camera Session at 3:34 p.m. to discuss matters pertaining to "personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees", Ontario Municipal Act 2011, c.25, s.239 (2)(b). 1.
