Regular Council

THAT the Regular Council Meeting Agenda for Monday, July 18, 2016 be approved as amended.

THAT the Regular Council Meeting Minutes for July 4, 2016 be approved as presented.

THAT the Township of Madawaska Valley supports the Township of Addington Highlands and the Township of North Frotenac requesting that the Province consider providing support to the Addigngton Highlands Fire Departments for their issues regarding responding to medical calls; AND THAT the Province should consider further support for medical emergency services programs in rural municipalities without additional downloading of services to municipalities.

THAT Council supports West Lincoln Township with the following resolution regarding mandatory municipal consent for future renewable energy projects: Whereas, the Independent Electrical System Operator has requested input on the RFP process used to award renewable energy contracts; and, Whereas, the government indicated that new contracts would be directed to willing host communities, and Regular Council - July 18, 2016 Whereas, three of the five contracts announced on March 10 did not have municipal support for the project; and, Whereas, there is no differentiation in the Green Energy Act to allow for larger setbacks based on the size of the Turbines being allowed for each installation, and Whereas, there has been great disregard for the Township of West Lincoln's Natural Heritage System and the Tree Inventory during the installation of the Transmission system of the current project Now Therefore, be it resolved that the Council of the Township of West Lincoln requests: That the Municipal Support resolution become a mandatory requirement in the IESO process; That the rules be amended to require that the resolution related to this support must be considered in an open Council meeting held after the community meeting organized by the proponent; That full details of the project including siting of project elements and site consideration reports, are required to be made available at the community meeting and to the Council before the resolution is considered; and, That, this res

THAT Council approves an application seeking funding from the Ontario 150 grant program - Community Capital Program for the Paul J. Yakabuski Community Centre and The Railway Station upgrades as previously noted.

THAT the Meeting enter In-Camera Session at 7:33 p.m. discuss matters pertaining to "the security of the property of the municipality or local board", "personal matters about an identifiable individual, including municipal or local board employees"; "a proposed or pending acquisition or disposition of land by the municipality or local board", "advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose", Ontario Municipal Act 2011, c.25, s.239 (2)(a)(b)(c)(f). THAT By-Law 2016-74 Being a By-Law to confirm the proceedings of the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Madawaska Valley at a Regular Council Meeting of July 18th, 2016 be given first and second reading this 18th day of July 2016.
